New Video

New video and the last of the Spider-Man archives videos I'll be doing. The camera is too cumbersome for me to do these faster and I have a looming deadline so I have to cut out anymore. I may have more from different sets or just me drawing in the future though.

I checked it out, great vid!! I can totally relate to it being cumbersome with 'recording'. That's why I haven't done much with the Spidey Cards since I'm already pushing myself to getting them done. ^^; But definitely keep it going when possible, like you mentioned with other cards. You've got great art and I love (I'm sure others do too ;)) watching you draw. :XD:

Thanks Nicole! I'll figure out some kinda cool overhead rig but I'm waiting until I can afford a camera and lighting rig. I've seen the Stephen Platt and Dave Finch Gnomon vids and there has to be something set up. Kinda like a cooking show. PVC pipe investment here I come :)

:giggle: True...it's all about riggin'!! I have my cam rigged up, but yeah...I'm in the same boat with lighting. I can't keep mine consistent and it's too yellow so I have to adjust other settings to get more white in it. Maybe I should try different bulbs. And when the light from the window is perfect it changes as the sun moves. :nirvana:

If you find the perfect lighting setup, let me know! Or you can keep the secret to yourself. :faint:

I'll have to check Stephen Platt and Dave Finch Gnomon out...

Well you want white lights. I've found, for filming, flourescents can be cool (make sure they're white). Get a couple (like 25 bucks for a shop fixture and 12 inch bulb) and aim them from the sides at the drawing area until you get no shadows (generally a little higher up and facing towards you).

You will go blind if you look up.

The other thing is look for a hi lux camera or one with an adjustable exposure. I wonder if those small adjustable desk lamps would work. The ones with the long bulbs in them.

Anyway that's the worst part about filming anything...lighting...hated in film school, hate it in making shorts and hate in recording myself drawing haha.

OMG! I'll make sure not to luck up then...
:giggle:

My web cam has exposure adjustment....along with brightness, contrast, gain and whiteness. :XD: I'll have to work with more lamp rigs..no shadows, no shadows, no shadows....:nirvana:

Thanks for the tips!
